Size Guide

HOW TO MEASURE

Bordelle pieces are known for their extensive adjustment, however it is important to find the right size before making a purchase. This Size and Style Guide will help you take the correct measurements to find your Bordelle size.

Your usual bra size and four measurements are needed to determine your Bordelle size. Please follow the steps below to take these measurements using a fabric measuring tape. We recommend wearing a non-padded wire bra and standing in front of a mirror when measuring.

Underbust Measurement

Place the measuring tape firmly around your ribcage, just below your breasts, ensure the tape runs straight and level around the body for the most accurate measurement

Waist Measurement

Place the measuring tape around your waist, midway between the bottom of your rib cage and the top of your hips, ensuring it is straight and level around the body

Top Hip Measurement

Place the tape around the top of your hip bone, ensuring the tape is straight and level around your body

Lower Hip Measurement

Standing with your heels together, place the tape around the fullest part of your hips, ensuring the tape is straight and level around your body

Bras

Choosing the correct bra size is important to ensure the best fit in Bordelle. Use your usual bra size and underbust measurement to help find the correct Bordelle size - SS, S, M, L or LL.

If your usual bra size cannot be seen on the size chart then

Balconette Wire Bra

A wired bra with supportive fabric cups that’s great for everyday, providing gentle lift and support. Usually featuring a narrow underband.

A structured show piece style featuring unique design details. Wired for support with fabric cups. Usually longline, the underband sits low on the rib cage, just above the waist.

A cupless bra, wired for support to gently enhance your natural shape. Other ouvert styles include shelf bras which feature quarter cups for gentle lift. Our ouvert styles don’t feature a cup, this allows for more versatile sizing outside of our size range.

Adjustment

All Bordelle bras feature adjustment, use our step-by-step guide below to find your personalised fit.

1) Correctly position your breasts into the cups, leaning forwards to ensure the breast tissue is enclosed in the cups, fasten the bra.

2) After fastening the bra, adjust the underband straps via the 24K gold plated sliders. The underband provides most of the support, so should always be adjusted first. The underband should sit level and straight around the body feeling firm, but comfortable. If you find that the underband is riding up, try tightening the underband straps.

3) Once the underband is fitting comfortably, adjust the shoulder straps. These should be tightened enough to ensure they do not to slip off the shoulder, but should not dig in

4) When the bra is supporting and fitting you comfortably, any other strap details can be adjusted (collars, cup straps, decorative straps).

Brief/Thong

Briefs

Style your favourite Bordelle bra with a brief. Use your top hip and lower hip measurements to determine the correct size. For high waist styles, you will also need your waist measurement.

Thongs

Each season a number of different thong styles will be offered to cater to a range of preferences. Use your top hip measurement to determine the correct size. For high waist styles, you will also need your waist measurement.

All Bordelle Suspenders are created using our bespoke 24K gold plated branded suspender clips. The rubber tabs are colour matched to each design. Suspender straps are detachable on certain styles.

Iconic Bordelle designs, made entirely from rows of our Signature satin elastic strapping, redesigned to feature extensive adjustment for the perfect fit. Use your waist and lower hip measurements to find your size for waspies. For dresses, you will also need your bra size. Please contact us should you require any further help to find your size. 

Fitting

Our dresses and waspies are specially constructed to stretch around your body for the perfect fit, we recommend having someone assist when fastening the zip at the centre back. We suggest tightly holding the zip fastening together at the back, while your assistant pulls the zip closed, with a firm grip at the base.
